About this project
A cloakroom in a lateral apartment, built around a single object: a freestanding cast-concrete basin standing on a black marble floor. A room this small is either a corridor with a WC in it or a deliberate one, and the decision here was to give it a piece worth looking at and then keep everything else quiet.
The mirror runs full height and is lit from behind, which does the work of a window in a room that has none — light off the wall rather than a fitting in your eyeline — and the brassware is matt black so nothing competes with the concrete.
