Home Renovation in Belgravia
Regency stucco, listed almost without exception, and an estate landlord on the other side of every licence — Belgravia renovation is as much consent as construction.

Renovating property in Belgravia
Belgravia was built in one piece in the 1820s and 30s and it still reads that way: Cubitt's white stucco terraces around Belgrave and Eaton Squares, the mews behind them that once held the horses, and a small number of later mansion blocks. The overwhelming majority of it is Grade II listed and the whole area is a conservation area, so the building you are altering is a designated heritage asset inside and out.
What that means in practice is that everything visible is negotiable only with evidence. Original staircases, cornices, shutters and joinery are expected to stay; new plant, air conditioning and services have to be routed where they do no harm and cannot be seen. Most of the modern living happens in the plan behind the facade: reconfiguring floors into lateral apartments, rebuilding kitchens and bathrooms into the least sensitive rooms, and upgrading acoustics and heating without touching what is protected.
Add the estate: much of Belgravia is leasehold under the Grosvenor Estate, so a licence for alterations runs in parallel with listed building consent, and both precede a start on site. We prepare and run both, and we build to the standard the finished work will be inspected against. See period property renovation and interior refurbishment.
